Strong Steps provides counselling, brief intervention, referral and information for individuals and their families experiencing issues with methamphetamine, other drugs and alcohol. Strong Steps is located at Coolalinga, in Darwin's rural area.

Strong Steps is a pilot initiative from CAAPS Aboriginal Corporation and Amity Community Services Inc.

Strong Steps is funded by the Northern Territory Primary Health Network through the Methamphetamine, Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services funding.

Strong Steps was proposed as an opportunity to meet the AOD service needs for people in Darwin’s rural areas.​

  • Brief Intervention
  • Referral
  • Information

All Strong Steps counsellors are highly experienced and qualified in providing AOD services with a culturally diverse approach.

How can I access Strong Steps?

Strong Steps is a drop-in service, which means that you can visit anytime during business hours, although appointments can be arranged if required.

We offer a comfortable family friendly environment and Strong Steps services are free of charge.

Referrers

A copy of the Strong Steps Referral form can be downloaded from this page.

Completed referrals can be emailed to strongsteps@caaps.org.au. An email confirmation of receipt will be forwarded upon receipt of the referral.
